Fra Noi Embrace Your Inner Italian
Café Pisolino, a new Italian espresso bar on the ground floor of Italian Village in downtown Chicago, opened in June. A venture of Italian Village Restaurants, Café Pisolino is part of a multilevel establishment that also houses The Village, Vivere, Sotto and Bar Sotto.
“Café Pisolino is our way of reimagining how Italian Village can serve the city throughout the day,” said Jonathan Capitanini, president of Italian Village Restaurants. “As the Loop continues to evolve, we saw an opportunity to create something that feels both timeless and new, a place where people can step away, even briefly, and reconnect. It’s about honoring our family’s legacy while contributing to the vibrancy and everyday life of downtown Chicago.”
The menu features classic and specialty espresso drinks ranging from “shakerato” and cappuccino to a signature gianduja-infused house latte, alongside seasonal offerings such as vanilla peach cold brew. A rotating selection of pastries includes cornetti, lemon ricotta cake, tomato tarts and strawberry-rhubarb crostata, along with items like lemon-blueberry overnight oats, limoncello chia pudding and a Tuscan chicken salad sandwich.
Café Pisolino is open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Italian Village is Chicago’s oldest Italian restaurant, a fourth-generation, family-owned dining institution serving guests in the heart of downtown Chicago since 1927. For more, click here.
