Justinians go to bat for kids in need

The Justinian Society of Lawyers held its 21st annual Children’s Endowment Fund grant reception on March 16 at Lux Bar in Chicago. Justinian President Bruno Marasso and Endowment Fund Chairman Frank Sommario presented a total of $15,000 in CEF grants at the event to the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association, Direct Effect Charities and St. Anthony Hospital. Justinians bestow scholarships

The Justinian Society of Lawyers bestowed 21 scholarships totaling $54,000 at their 2022 installation and awards gala. That total doesn’t include matching grants from law schools. The recipients were Isabella Mazzanti, Nicole Alfano, Kimberly Bernhard, Adriana Bosco, Evan Deichstetter, Frank DiLeo, Marla Fontana, Carol Frugoli, Giana Galle, Arabella Gigliotti, Brandon Grant, Dorthea Keys Kohon, Monika Nasiadka, Olivia Raimondi, Joseph Ranieri, Sabrina Scardamaglia, Marissa Scavelli, Krista Solano, Kaitlin Stanfield, Christina Valentini and Nicholas Zito.

Justinians install officers, honor Coco

Chicago attorney Bruno Marasso stepped up to the presidency of the Justinian Society of Lawyers at the organization’s annual installation and awards dinner on Sept. 22 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. Justinians celebrate Sommario

Chicago attorney Frank Sommario received the Justinian Society of Lawyers 2021 Award of Excellence at a Nov. 18 gala at Gibson’s Italia. The award was presented by Justinian President Dion Davi. “I am humbled to be the 2021 Award of Excellence recipient,” Sommario says. “I have been a member since my first year of law school, and being recognized in this way is a great honor.” A senior partner at the law firm of Romanucci & Blandin, Sommario is a past Justinian president and currently serves on the society’s executive committee as its comptroller.

Circuit Court offers Italian Heritage Month tours

Circuit Court of Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans has announced that the annual Italian Heritage Month Courthouse Tour of the Richard J. Daley Center will take place on Oct. 9. The tour is co-sponsored by the JCCIA and the Justinian Society of Lawyers.
