Steve Lewis of Meadowlark Hospitality has opened Little Lark, his newest concept, at 3132 N. Rockwell St. in the Guild Row space in Chicago. Lewis is the restaurateur behind Michelin-recognized Lardon, Union and The Meadowlark bar in Chicago. Little Lark’s “high-quality yet approachable cuisine set in a carefully crafted social space makes for a special immersive dining experience on the city’s Northwest Side,” a press release states.
The menu features wood-fired neo-Neapolitan pizzas, ranging from familiar favorites like sausage or margherita, to more inventive like the ‘Nduja, featuring Lardon’s spicy house-cured salumi. The sweet corn pizza includes local farm fresh corn, fermented tomato and chilis, and caramelized onions, while the zucchine pie is topped with summer squash and fresh ricotta. “The diverse array of ingredients and flavors showcases a pizza program that balances tradition with innovation,” the release states.
Weekend sandwich offerings include thinly sliced prosciutto and peaches, and a mortadella creation with pistachio cream. The cocktail menu features spicy peach spritz, limoncello margarita, pizza negroni and pineapple gin and tonic. The wine list has an eclectic mix of global whites, reds, sparkling and skin-contact selections from Italy, Chile, California and beyond.
The restaurant extends into Rockwell Garden, a 2,600-square-foot outdoor area surrounded by historic brick walls lined with lush greenery.
