Chicago Lawyer Magazine presented its 2023 Person of the Year Award to Patrick A. Salvi II, the Chicago managing partner at the law firm of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard. The honor is bestowed annually upon a newsmaker, trendsetter or legal leader, according to the publication’s managing editor, John McNally.
Salvi’s efforts to finalize an overall settlement for the remaining Sterigenics cases and pass meaningful legislation for the plaintiff’s bar through the Illinois General Assembly were among the reasons he earned the award, according to McNally.
“Salvi has touched the lives of individuals he’s encountered since entering the industry nearly two decades ago — whether it be his clients, colleagues, legislators, or opponents,” Chicago Lawyer Magazine reporter Cailey Gleeson wrote. “After securing the October 2022 record-breaking $363 million jury verdict award for Sue Kamuda against Sterigenics, followed by an overall $408 million settlement in January as lead counsel for the hundreds of remaining lawsuits against Sterigenics and helping deliver significant legislative changes as ITLA president that allow punitive damages in wrongful death lawsuits, Salvi shows no signs of slowing down.”
“This is an incredible honor. I am so very thankful to Chicago Lawyer,” Salvi said. “I am also thankful to the team at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, and the clients that we have been honored to represent.”
