The Mount Carmel Parish and Shrine in Melrose Park will host a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Christ’s Passion in St. John, Indiana, on March 21.

Pilgrims will traverse a 1-1/2-mile multimedia prayer trail, landscaped to look like the Holy Land, that features life-size bronze statues of Christ and many biblical figures.

The first part of the tour begins with the Last Supper, proceeds to the Garden of Gethsemane, travels the path to Calvary and concludes with the Ascension. Other stops on the tour take in Moses receiving the 10 Commandments on Mount Sinai, a chapel and grotto dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, a Sanctity of Life memorial garden, and the 34-foot-tall statue of Our Lady of the New Millennium.

The three-hour spiritual sojourn concludes with a visit to the gift shop and a Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church. Time for meditation and prayer will also be available at the Guadalupe Plaza.

Pilgrims will depart from Melrose Park via bus at 11 a.m. and return at 7 p.m. The cost of the pilgrimage is $55 per person, with $10 for a seat on the golf cart for the 1.5-mile tour. The fee covers transportation, tips, donations, snacks, a light lunch and boxed dinner. Reservations are required by March 3. For details or to make reservations, call 708-344-4140.
