Italia comes to vibrant life at Schererville festa

Festa Italiana stormed Villa Cesare from July 25-27, delivering a celebration of Italian culture that left a lasting mark. This free-entry fest, now a northwest Indiana staple, drew thousands, immersing them in the spirit of Italy through food, music, culture and competition.

Foodies embarked on a culinary odyssey featuring Daddy’s Pizza, Izzy’s Italian Ice, Rosebud Steakhouse, Coppolillo’s Italian Steakhouse, Battista’s Artisan Pizzeria, Ammirato’s Meatball Cafe, Joey’s Concessions, Ciao Bella Ristorante and Crumbles: A Bake Shop. The Italian American Women’s Club of Lake County added homemade pizzelles, biscotti and pasta, elevating the authentic flavors.

A 12-team bocce tournament showcased skill and rivalry, while the spaghetti-eating and grape-stomping contests — open to kids of all ages and adults — turned messy and hilarious, igniting cheers. Tradizione Vivente, the Italian dance group from Milwaukee, electrified the stage with traditional folk dances, pulling spectators into the rhythmic fray. La Tosca presented a captivating exploration of rare Italian folk melodies.

Entertainment soared with a tribute to Tony Bennett by Jeffrey Lyle Segal, plus powerhouse vocals from Vince Amore, Jack Miuccio and Tommy Panici. As dusk fell, Nawty Band, Dick Diamond and The Dusters, and The Crawpuppies unleashed powerful performances, keeping the crowd dancing late into the night.

The event was centered around the amazing Italian culture, deeply rooted in family, food and music, drawing diverse attendees to revel in la dolce vita. From the aroma of red sauce to the strains of “That’s Amore,” Festa Italiana 2025 was a triumph. For more, click here.
