‘Chiara’ (Venice Film Festival/Emanulea Scarpa 2022 Vivo film, Tarantula)

Casa Italia’s popular film series will return in March and April, with screenings taking place at the Casa’s recently renovated Community Center.

March 6 — The biopic “Chiara” explores the life of St. Clare, who rebelled against her aristocratic family to follow in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi.

March 13 — Re-creating life in the Italian Alps after World War II, “Vermigilio” follows the story of a mysterious deserter from Sicily who walks into a small town and upends a family’s quiet world.

March 27 — In “La chimera,” a band of burglars unearths ancient treasures, selling them for fun and profit, until the distant past catches up with them.

April 10 — Based on a true story, “Mixed by Erry” tracks the rise and fall of a Neapolitan teen who parlays pirated tunes into a music distribution empire.

Films are screened in the Italian American Community Room in the Community Center at Casa Italia in Stone Park. Free parking is available behind the Italian Cultural Center, 1621 N. 39th Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m., and screenings begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be available.
