Dr. Paul E. DiFranco has risen through the ranks to the presidency of the Arcolian Dental Arts Society. Joining him as officers are President-elect Dr. Mary Teresa Lima, Vice President Dr. Jessica Mattern, Treasurer Dr. Lauren Allegretti and Secretary Dr. Charles Martello.
A member for eight years, DiFranco joined the Arcolians because he saw how much the organization meant to his father, the late Dr. Charles F. DiFranco, a past president and recipient of the Arcolian of the Year Award. “After I started to attend the meetings regularly, I could see why he loved it so much,” DiFranco says. “It’s a fantastic organization that I am proud to be a part of.”
DiFranco is completing a term as president of the Englewood Branch of the Chicago Dental Society and is looking forward to taking the helm of the Arcolians. “I’m very excited to serve as president, and I feel very fortunate to have a fantastic board working with me to make this upcoming year a great one,” he says.
A third-generation dentist, DiFranco received a bachelor of arts in education from Miami University in Ohio and his D.D.S. from the University of Illinois-Chicago. He then earned a fellowship in craniofacial research at the University of Kentucky, where he completed his orthodontic residency and earned a master of science degree.
The owner since 2015 of Paul DiFranco Orthodontics in Palos Hills, he started his professional career at the Park Ridge practice of his uncle Paul A. DiFranco, who also served as president of the Arcolians. DiFranco lives in Elmhurst with his wife, Alison, and their three children, Lexi, Zoe and Rocco.
DiFranco and his fellow officers will be installed on April 26 at Cucina Biagio, 7319 W. Lawrence Ave., Harwood Heights. The meeting will include a presentation by outgoing President Dr. Derek Fornelli about 3D printing and scanning in the general dental office. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30, with the installation and program to follow. Attendance is free for members and season ticket holders and $50 for guests. To make reservations, call Dr. Derek Fornelli at 312-375-1635 or Dr. Jeffrey Gentile at 630-730-1050.
