Steve Decker

Steven Decker is a lifetime Chicago area resident, a father, grandfather and a military veteran. Decker grew up as part of a large Sicilian family in the Logan Square neighborhood of the city and attended Lane Tech High School. Shortly after graduation, Steve enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served several years as an air traffic controller at a NATO air base in Northern Italy. After the military, Decker went into sales and real estate development. Now retired and living in Aurora, Steve has six grandchildren and enjoys being a part of a large family.

  As an author, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of Italian Americans at book signings. It’s always my pleasure to chat with these fine people. I enjoy their family tales and always encourage them to tell the stories of their immigrant ancestors to their children and grandchildren to help preserve the memory of the incredible accomplishments of their forebears. One blessed moment
