Società Maria Santissima Lauretana di Altavilla Milicia was founded in 1900 in honor of the Maria Santissima Lauretana, patroness of Altavilla Milicia, Palermo, Sicilia. Special events include a St. Valentine’s Day dinner in February, a festa in September, a fashion show in October and a Christmas party in December. There are no annual dues. Officers are installed in January, and meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month. The society has a chapel and lodge at 5854 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago.
