A graduate of world renowned Pivot Point Academy, Caporale has had a love and passion for hair styling since her days at Trinity High School in River Forest.
A typical schedule for Caporale consists of meetings and consultations during the week with her clients. She also dabbles in commercial photography, and offers lessons in hair care and maintenance.
When the weekend comes around, she travels to hotels and homes across the metropolitan area, typically taking 30 to 35 minutes per person to work on the bride and her wedding party.
What makes her stand out is that the bride and her party are able to sit back and relax while Caporale comes to them. If there are two weddings that are around the same location, she will book those weddings on one day. She travels throughout the Chicago metropolitan area and Midwest but has also been flown with wedding parties to other states and out of the country for destination weddings.
Caporale’s calm, caring and sincere personality puts a special touch on any bride-to-be’s special day. “It’s fun and it’s never the same,” Caporale enthuses. “I’m doing what I like and you never know what you are going to get!”
Caporale is no newcomer to hair styling. “It really started as a hobby in high school for me.” She would spend her free time styling friends and family. While training at Pivot Point, she developed her passion and talent for wedding hair styles, which took flight when she launched her business and her clientele expanded.
Caporale is also well respected in the wedding industry, having made connections with make-up artists, photographers, and event planners. Most of her business comes from referrals and word of mouth. “I am really lucky in that I have never had to pay for advertising in the past 12 years,” she shares. Caporale takes great pride in her success as a businesswoman, which stems in no small part from the the personal attention she gives to each of her clients.
Caporale has fond memories of past styling sessions, particularly her work with Amanda Beard, an Olympic Gold medalist in swimming, a few years back. “I remember styling her before she made an appearance at a department store in Chicago,” she recalls. “I loved how humble and down to earth she was.”
When Caporale works with bridal parties she knows that their hairstyle is very important and it can make or break a look. “It can be stressful,” she confides. “This is the most important day of a woman’s life and I do this every weekend.”
Caporale’s future is looking bright. Her growing reputation in the highly competitive wedding industry has allowed her to recruit other well-respected stylists to join her ever expanding business.
As she wraps up one weekend and gears up for the next, Caporale looks forward to the handwritten notes that she often receives in the mail from the brides she has worked with. “My goal is to make my clients feel special,” she shares. “I want them to feel beautiful as well as look beautiful.”
