Di Piero is the host of the podcast “Keepin’ It Real with Frankie D.” on ItalianAmericanLife.com. He is a past president of the Harlem Avenue Italian & American Business Association and served on the committee to create the Italian-American studies program at Loyola University in Chicago.
He is a board member of Casa Italia, Italidea-Midwest and Little Italy Cenetta, and serves on the committee that stages the Festa della Repubblica at the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii.
A proud supporter of the Balbo Monument and Balbo Drive, he has organized a seminar on Italian aviation, a cultural dance for young Italian Americans and Italian language classes for youth.
Born in Chicago, he is the owner of Jeri’s Grill, a 24-hour greasy spoon diner in Jefferson Park that his father opened in 1963. He lives in Norridge with his wife, Ivana, the owner of Ivana Di Piero Hair Studio on Harlem Avenue since 1991.
He is a school board member and freshman mentor at Ridgewood High School District 234 in Norridge, and serves on the Advisory Review/Planning Committee and the Green Team for the village.
