Ancona serves as president of local  UNICO chapter

Donato Ancona currently serves as president of the West Suburban Chapter of UNICO National. He was elected to the post in July 2022, having previously served as treasurer and secretary.

“If I had to choose one word, it would be ‘honored,’” Ancona says of his election to the presidency of the chapter. “To be nominated by the board to lead the organization along with them is special. I have been involved and I’ve helped out wherever I could from the first day I joined, and the board recognized that. I look forward to giving back to the organization and the community in this new capacity.”

A member of the chapter since 2012, Ancona was inspired to join by the selflessness of its members. “I wanted to find a group that worked together for a great cause, and I found that here,” he explains. “Our motto says it all: ‘Service Above Self.’ We all understand this isn’t about personal gain. It’s about serving the community and helping where we can. The parent organization’s name is UNICO, and we are unique in our capacity to give, and we’re one of a kind, that’s for sure.”

A resident of Des Plaines, Ancona is a corporate banker who manages four teams in the Commercial Bank Division of JP Morgan.

The chapter’s 51st annual charity golf outing on Aug. 21 is sold out, but sponsorships are still available. For more, call Ancona at 708-774-4913.
