Antonio Romanucci has been installed as the 66th president of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and Frank Sommario has been sworn in as the secretary of the National Italian American Bar Association. Romanucci and Sommario are partners in the Chicago-based law firm of Romanucci & Blandin.
Romanucci has been an active member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association since 1995. He was elected to the Board of Managers in 2003 and has served on ITLA’s Executive Committee as well as ITLA’s Nominating Committee.
He is a past president of the Justinian Society of Lawyers and the founder of the Justinian’s Charitable Endowment Fund. He is a past chair of the Police Misconduct Litigation Group as well as the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group for the American Association for Justice.
Romanucci has been named a “Top 100 Super Lawyer” for 12 straight years in Illinois, a “Leading Lawyer” since 2004 and was named a “Best Lawyer” for 2013 through 2019 by U.S. News and World Report. He maintains a perfect Martindale-Hubble AV rating and an AVVO rating of 10/10. He was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in the 2019 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
Sommario began his membership with NIABA in 2000. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2017 and has been active in the association by chairing the Budget Committee as well as working on several other committees.
He is a past president of the Justinian Society of Lawyers and the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association. He served two three-year terms on the Board of Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association.
Sommario has been named one of The Best Lawyers in America since 2017, an Illinois Super Lawyer since 2016, a Leading Lawyer by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company since 2016, one of Illinois’ Rising Stars by Super Lawyers from 2010 to 2015, and one of “40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 to Watch by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company in 2012.
