Founded in 1921, the Justinian Society of Lawyers organizes and advocates on behalf of Italian Americans in the legal profession, and offers social, professional and charitable opportunities to members. The Justinians host a bocce tournament in February, a summer golf outing, an installation and an awards dinner in September. The society publishes a quarterly newsletter, promotes mentoring among lawyers and students, offers scholarships to law students, spearheads volunteer efforts and makes donations to worthy causes. There are Justinian chapters in DuPage, Lake, Kane and Winnebago counties and law school chapters at Chicago-Kent, John Marshall, DePaul, University of Illinois and Northern Illinois. Annual dues are $125 for full members, $50 for retired members and $25 for student members. Officers are elected each year in May, and meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month. Offices are located at 734 N. Wells St., Chicago, IL 60610.
